Privacy policy

DC Manager (working title). Effective date: [date of first release]. Last updated: 25 September 2026.

This policy says what the DC Manager game and its website (compute.games) collect, why, how long we keep it and how to delete it. The game is made by [developer legal name and address] ("we"). Contact: support@compute.games.

The short version

What we collect

If you don't use cloud saves

Nothing leaves your device. Your games, settings and progress are stored locally by the game. Uninstalling the game (or clearing its data) deletes them.

If you turn on cloud saves

WhatWhyHow long
A random account ID (a guest account: no name, no email)To keep your saves apart from everyone else'sUntil you delete the account
Session records (a hashed token, when it was created, last used and expires)To keep you signed inGuest sessions expire after 400 days, email sessions after 180 days; all are deleted with the account
Your email address, only if you link oneTo sign you in on another device with a one-time codeUntil you delete the account
One-time sign-in codes (stored hashed)To check the code you typeExpire after 10 minutes
Your saves: the game state, the moves you made, your save names, the company name you chose, and a summary (cash, returns) for the save listTo back up and sync your gamesUntil you delete them or the account; we keep the 5 newest versions of each save slot

Abuse protection (everyone who calls the cloud service)

To stop abuse (for example, someone requesting thousands of sign-in codes), the cloud service counts requests per IP address and per email address in short windows (15 minutes to 24 hours). A counter holds the IP address or email address it counts, the start of its window and a number. [Retention of expired counters: to be set, e.g. deleted within 7 days.] We don't use these counters for anything else.

Emails we send

We only email you the sign-in codes you ask for. No newsletters and no marketing.

Crash reports

The game does not send crash reports today. If we turn them on, we will update this policy first. A crash report would carry the game's state and technical details about the error, not your email address.

This website

compute.games uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the pages.

Who processes your data

The cloud service, the email sending and this website run on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which processes the data on our behalf. Cloud saves are stored in Cloudflare's Western Europe region. [Confirm data processing agreement and international transfer basis.] We don't share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

The app stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) handle downloads and any purchases under their own privacy policies.

Deleting your data

Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, email address, sessions, sign-in codes and every cloud save and its older versions. We keep only a record that a deletion happened (the random account ID and the times), so we can show that we honored it. Saves on your devices stay until you delete them there.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Write to support@compute.games. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority. [Legal basis: performance of a contract (cloud saves you turned on) and legitimate interests (abuse protection); confirm.]

Children

DC Manager is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). The game can be played without giving us any personal information. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to support@compute.games and we will delete it. [Confirm age rating and target audience for the store listings.]

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Session tokens and sign-in codes are stored only as hashes. Saves are stored in a private bucket with no public access.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date, and tell you in the game before a change that matters takes effect.
